On October 7, Telma hid for 10 hours in her bomb shelter in Kibbutz Nir Oz, while hell broke loose outside. Later, she learned her son Aviv, a member of the kibbutz’s emergency response team, was killed and his body taken to Gaza by Hamas, while Aviv’s wife, Liat, was kidnapped.
The Kibbutz Nir Oz community was shattered but Telma never stopped believing it would rise and rebuild. When Hagit met Telma, a close personal connection formed, and through support from the Fund for Victims of Terror, Telma found comfort and care when she needed them most.
